My Family; My All

I always thank God for giving me great parents. They are priceless. May their beautiful souls rest in peace.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for them.

#Ourfamilychronicles: We were and still are inseparable. I have some of the beautiful memories courtesy of my beautiful siblings and blessed parents. Being the lastborn in a family of six (always thought we were many but as I grew up I realized we were actually very few), I received lotsa love from all around. The age difference between me and the one am following is mega (decade) but oh well, am still their baby. Hehe. When I joined school, my other siblings were either finishing college or starting employment. My parents invested in our education, so I was lucky to go to one of the nice schools in my locality then and I bless them for that. We are a very close knit family courtesy of the values instilled in us.

When I joined school, I was as chicky as any little one. I would fake sickness so that I wouldn’t go to school… yes I did. One of the major fakes was pretending to have seen a huge gigantic dog waiting for me at the school gate and thus I was scared to get into school... pwahahaha, really!! I would intentionally forget my lunch pack and so my sister would be tasked with delivering it to school. I love them to bits.

We grew up together and being showered with immeasurable love by our parents, we learnt how to love and respect people around us. We received our better share of disciplining, or lemmi say my siblings did. Fortunately I found my parents tired of administering belts and slippers. Lucky bit**. I always share light moments with my siblings telling them how dad decided to punish me by requiring that I fill one tea seedling with soil at the nursery bed because I feigned a headache. My dear mama on the other hand would give us a side eye every time we went to weddings we weren’t invited to or burials in the village. As soon as you saw that stare, which I know most people still give their kids, you most definitely knew that you would receive a thrashing.

Now that we are old and independent, we ride on all the principles taught to us when we were young. We fight and disagree like every other family but we don’t go long before making up over a serious nyama choma escapade.

#Familytradition… every time we went home especially on holidays as we would be all of us, there are things we did that overtime became a tradition. In the morning while taking breakfast, and by the way we all are tea lovers, we somehow found ourselves seated outside on the grass with several flasks of tea. We would chart away until someone remembered that we have staff in the shamba who would need tea and food. As usual we would assign duties depending with each person’s strength. Tsst! I always got sent a lot being the kifunga mimba. Sometimes it’s annoying. But now am glad my dear siblings have birthed reliable babies who have overtime taken my place in terms of being sent *winks*.

Now that our parents went to be with the lord, may they RIP, we now hang out near their resting place. We just find ourselves seated there talking and laughing away. Maybe it’s the feeling of inclusiveness. I bow down to my family. We are blessed and it’s always my prayer that we continue being obsessed with each other.

#chroniclesadvice: Family is key, family is paramount. Always thrive to ensure you have a close working relationship despite the issues that sometime come to split and cause havoc. You might think you don’t need each other but shock on you, you do!!!

Jetting off for the weekend with love...

Ignorance: Total Bliss to Some Few!!!

Why would you post something online that you aren’t sure about knowing very well  that as soon as you press post its going to be seen by the whole world, or rather anyone who is interested in reading your upload? Then you will cry foul that you have been cyber bullied. As much as I don’t support cyber bullying, sometimes we call for it.

Recent case scenario. #MayweathervsPacquiao: Not that I had heard about them before they started trending on social media but at least I didn’t display my ignorance for everyone to make a circus out of. And anyway it’s not my area of interest considering I couldn’t even stand watching wresting (WWF) back in the day.

Anyway, they came, they swept the internet, some people didn’t sleep waiting for the much publicized fight but unfortunately some ignorant social media user(s) decided that Mayweather is the current weather in May and she went on to rant about how people are giving this May Weather a lot of attention… hheeh. I was perturbed, and at the same time irritated by her level of ignorance. But you know, to some point I can defend her. Reason being she wrote this name as two words which is contrary to how this boxers name is written. One is May weather and the other Floyd Mayweather Jr. So to some extent she can get away with it. Either way we know she was talking about the latter.

First before you write something that you know you ain’t sure about why not Google. It’s always been said that Google is your best friend and am sure many will attest to that. There’s nothing in this word that you can search and not find there. So my dear friends please utilize the same bundles to search before pressing post…

She isn’t the only nut case. There was this other one who decided to drink a croissant…. Woooi ngai! We need saving. How now? She searched croissant and all she/he saw was a hot steaming cup of croissant. Tsst!

That one did not annoy me. Apparently, I just giggled about it and moved on. Maybe somewhere in their village they drink croissant. This is what I call trying to keep up with the Jonasses. It’s just like when we were learning the art of using a fork n knife. Jeez! People made a fool of themselves whilst trying to keep up. My thought was, just ask how to use the damn utensils else you will have you piece of chicken flying to someone’s face. I used to devour my chicken the best way I knew how. Shika with both hands and enjoy…heheh. You should have seen me. Now I’ve learn through asking and practicing.

#chronicleslesson: ask and it shall be given to you. Even the bible says so.

Salamu Haziuzwi...

It’s just a good morning greeting!!!

I am this person who believes that greetings are essential. I have never found myself pass someone I know without saying hallo. You know, it doesn’t cost you anything, and furthermore, even that breath is God given. What if He said you don’t need it anymore?

Am the kind that will chitchat even with the matatu driver in the event that I get to seat with him. My thought being, it’s just a conversation and if it doesn’t go the direction you intended then you have the right to just zip up. They too are human and you couldn’t know how you might impact someone.

Anyway, this is my take on all this.

Wake up with a smile, doesn’t matter how your night was. No one was with you anyway or in this case we weren’t with you. Only your four walls can confess. So whether you had a good or bad one, suck it in. everyone has their issues and you transporting yours to the office or wherever else you might be going is uncouth and shaddy. It’s a mere good morning, dhaa!

So my Greetings Chronicles: Monday mornings are not a favourite to many, so however it suits you, just don’t infect others with your grumpiness. Some people are born happy thus, no matter what the hell they might be going through you will never detect. Be a happy soul, infect others with your smile. Even if you’re not paid to do it.

So my friend is the kind that says “am not a morning person”. What does that mean anyway? I think am an all-time person. Hehe or maybe not. But jeez! You cannot not be a morning person. Sleep in until noon then if you are a noon person. Nkt..

Anyway, all am saying is those many words is whether you are or aren’t a morning person, just suck it. Say hi to people. Or at least smile.

Aunty acid help me give some hints!!!
